Be the primary maintainer of the local emulator tool for the Fastly Compute product, ensuring it supports all necessary functionality and testing capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design high-quality interfaces for developers using the emulation tool, and contribute to open source projects related to its development.
Work closely with product and engineering management teams to develop and align the roadmap for the emulation tool with the production environment.
You have at least 5 years of software development experience, with at least 3 of those in high-reliability systems programming, ideally in Rust, alternately in C/C++, and some knowledge of functional programming
You have a minimum of 2 years of experience with distributed or cloud systems
Comfortable writing asynchronous, concurrent code
Experience with Rust or other systems languages
Experience with API design
Experience with and interest in technical writing
Experience with WebAssembly and its ecosystem
Experience with and interest in public speaking
History of open source contribution
