About The Role

Join Wayve, a pioneering company in the self-driving car industry. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a startup-like environment within a scale-up. You will own and evolve the cloud infrastructure and developer tooling that supports the entire Portal engineering team. This hands-on role will involve working across various areas, including cloud infrastructure, RBAC/IAM, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and developer productivity. You will design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure, improve CI/CD pipelines, support Kubernetes-based deployment workflows, and build internal tools for observability. Additionally, you will participate in a support/on-call rotation and apply security and networking knowledge to enhance the platform.

  • Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and developer tooling (primarily Azure) using IaC (Terraform) across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Own and evolve RBAC/IAM across both cloud/infrastructure and application/product layers for a multi-tenant Portal environment.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to increase developer velocity, reliability and deployment safety.
  • High autonomy and ownership: you take responsibility for outcomes in a fast-moving team
  • Security and networking fundamentals: you are a hands-on builder, not just a reviewer
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • A product mindset: you think about the developer experience and build tools that genuinely improve how the team works
  • Strong hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, ideally Azure, with production Terraform/IaC experience
  • Strong RBAC/IAM knowledge at cloud/infrastructure level; experience with application/product-level IAM or multi-tenancy is highly valuable
  • A strong communicator who can coach and guide application developers, not just build in isolation
  • Experience as part of a support or on-call rotation
  • Security certifications are a plus but not required
  • Background in developer experience (DX) or internal tooling
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth engineering environment
  • Experience working with multiple cloud providers or cross-cloud IAM across Azure, AWS and/or GCP
  • We understand that everyone has a unique set of skills and experiences and that not everyone will meet all of the requirements listed above. If you’re passionate about self-driving cars and think you have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world, we encourage you to apply
