Principal Agentic Product Design Engineer

Join Alteryx as a Principal Agentic Product Design Engineer, where you'll transform product design and development through AI-assisted workflows and intelligent tooling. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify high-leverage opportunities for AI integration and create scalable systems and tools. Your focus will be on improving workflows, customer experiences, and product value delivery.

• Identifying high-leverage opportunities where AI can improve how Product, Design, and Engineering teams work, and turning those opportunities into scalable systems, tools, and patterns.
• Partnering closely with Product, Design, Engineering, Research, and Operations teams to identify where agentic systems can meaningfully improve how we design, build, ship, and use products.
• Establishing a roadmap for AI-enabled product development, creating reusable patterns and tooling adopted by multiple teams, and helping shape how the organization designs, builds, and ships AI-powered experiences.
• A systems-oriented mindset with strong product intuition
• Experience building AI-powered applications using LLM APIs and orchestration frameworks
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in 0-to-1 environments
• Experience building developer platforms, internal tools, or workflow systems
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong understanding of interaction design, product thinking, and user experience principles
• Strong frontend engineering skills with modern web technologies and application architecture
• Demonstrated ability to prototype quickly and think in systems
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, design engineering, design systems, creative technology, UX engineering, or related fields
• Background in computational design, creative tooling, or generative interfaces
• Experience leading organizational transformation initiatives
• Familiarity with design systems and component architecture
• Experience integrating AI into product development workflows
• Experience with evaluation pipelines, prompt engineering, or AI observability tooling
• Experience with agent frameworks, retrieval systems, MCP servers, or multi-agent orchestration
