About The Role

Join Plaid, a company dedicated to unlocking financial freedom for everyone. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will design and build systems that connect millions of people to their finances. You will work across the stack, focusing primarily on backend development while also creating intuitive frontend experiences. Collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers is key, as you will define and implement new features that meet customer needs. You will also be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code, developing automated tests, and troubleshooting issues.

  • Design, develop, and maintain both frontend and backend components, with a majority focus on backend services and APIs.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features that meet product and customer needs.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and develop automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the codebase.

  • This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy switching between backend problem-solving and frontend user experience work, and who are excited to grow their impact across both
  • 2-4 years of experience in full-stack development
  • Excellent coding and testing skills
  • Customer empathy. You want to be face to face with customers to understand their needs and design Investments products together
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and modern frameworks and libraries
  • Experience MySQL or other relational databases
  • Experience with API design
  • High ownership. You are excited to roll up your sleeves and figure things out that don’t have precedent at Plaid
  • Experience working with microservices
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
