About The Role

Join Plaid, a leading fintech infrastructure company, as the Head of Internal Communications. In this builder role, you will define the infrastructure, cadences, and editorial strategy for internal communication. You will shape Plaid's internal AI narrative, counsel the executive team, and work closely with senior leaders across the organization. You will own high-impact executive content, internal communications strategy, and help employees understand the company's direction and their role in it. Additionally, you will partner with various internal teams, lead change communications, and continuously improve Plaid's internal communication infrastructure.

  • Programmatize existing internal communications, defining the infrastructure, cadences, and editorial strategy.
  • Shape Plaid's internal AI narrative, helping employees understand its implications for their work.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Plaid's executive team, counseling leaders on high-stakes communications.
  • High attention to detail and ability to distill complex ideas into clear guidance and written/verbal communications
  • Experience partnering closely with internal operations teams, like HR, IT, Workplace, Legal, etc
  • Experience with producing high quality and engaging All Hands team meetings
  • Video editing + AI skills a plus
  • Strong executive presence and track record of counseling senior leaders, including founder/CEOs, on high-stakes communications
  • Comfort and fluency with AI tools in communications practice; experience developing or owning an AI-related narrative (internal or external) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of building or significantly scaling an internal communications program. Can point to specific systems, channels, or programs they architected from scratch or materially elevated
  • At least 7+ year working in an internal communications function at a fast-paced tech company (ideally someone who has worked closely with a founder)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal – and the ability to engage and understand technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience as an effective team of one or lean team: ability to hold both the strategic vision and execute at the ground level without delegating the work
  • We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!
