About The Role
Join Gong, a leading SaaS company revolutionizing revenue organizations through AI-powered insights and automation. As the Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting, you will be responsible for leading complex accounting initiatives, supporting scalable growth, and strengthening our financial reporting infrastructure. You will serve as the company's subject matter expert on technical accounting matters, partner cross-functionally with various departments, and drive accounting assessments related to strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting leader with a passion for building in fast-moving environments.

- 12+ years of combined public accounting and/or industry experience, including significant exposure to high-growth technology or SaaS environments
- Proven ability to independently research, analyze, and document complex accounting issues
- Strong executive presence with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Active CPA license or equivalent professional certification
- 6+ years of deep technical accounting experience with strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including, but not limited to, ASC 606 and Stock-Based Compensation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a top-tier university or equivalent experience
- Experience operating in a SOX-compliant environment with strong understanding of internal controls and public company readiness
- 4+ years of progressive leadership experience with demonstrated success building and developing high-performing teams
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-changing, high-growth environment
- Big 4 public accounting experience, including advisory practice and/or National Office rotation
- Deep expertise in areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), business combinations, consolidation, leases, derivatives, equity transactions, and SaaS-related accounting matters
- Experience supporting M&A transactions and structuring deals to achieve desired accounting and business outcomes
- Background partnering across global organizations to influence change and drive scalable processes
- Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS, AI, or cloud technology company strongly preferred
- Passion for building in fast-moving environments with a mindset focused on innovation, operational excellence, and business partnership
