About The Role

Join Spinnaker, a leading insurance company, as the Director of Program Business. In this collaborative leadership role, you will be accountable for program management and underwriting of a sub-portfolio of programs. You will act as the "CEO" of multiple Spinnaker programs, with primary P&L responsibility and oversight of annual goals, relationship management, compliance, and strategic objectives. You will also collaborate with various departments and represent your assigned programs as a member of the Spinnaker senior leadership team.

  • Act as the "CEO" of a number of Spinnaker programs, with primary P&L responsibility for the book of business, and responsible for setting program annual goals.
  • Manage relationships with each program, including their Claims TPA, reinsurers, and brokers, and represent assigned programs as a member of the Spinnaker senior leadership team.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and regulatory requirements, oversee onboarding checklist(s) for new programs, and collaborate with Finance and Operations to ensure accurate reporting.
  • 7+ years of risk management experience in personal and/or commercial insurance positions of increasing responsibility required

  • Demonstrated success in exercising independent decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation competency
  • Proficient with setting and negotiating Reinsurance Programs
  • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with other departments and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to conduct analysis on unstructured data
  • Understanding of technical claims proficiency and execution of best claim practices
  • Contract Drafting experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills are required
  • Experience with coverage analysis
  • Customer-service and relationship oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Understanding of insurance concepts such as contracts, policy forms, reinsurance, state regulation, and claims coverage
  • Professional designations desired (CPCU, ARM, AIC, SCLA, etc.)
