Senior Software Engineer (Core Services)

Join Lime, a leading micromobility company, as a Senior Software Engineer (Core Services). In this role, you will design and build the core technology that powers our fleet of connected vehicles. You will work with a talented team of engineers, data scientists, designers, and PMs to create innovative solutions for urban transportation. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience, a passion for micromobility, and experience with AI-assisted development tools.

• Identifying, defining, and solving strategically essential technical problems, including architecting and building highly scalable foundational platforms.
• Building scalable, efficient, and stable software to power electric vehicles and related features, while writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Participating in a shared on-call rotation to support production systems and services, responding to and troubleshooting production issues.

• 5+ years of industry professional software development experience and a track record of building impactful products or systems
• Ability to participate in a shared on-call rotation supporting production systems, including occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage, with responsibility for responding to critical alerts, coordinating escalations to restore service, and documenting issues to help prevent recurrence
• Excellent communication and effective prioritization skills in working with competing priorities
• Technical proficiency to understand and contribute to the design and implementation of projects and ideas

• Ability to validate AI-assisted outputs, identifying risks and failure modes, protecting sensitive information, and knowing when deeper manual review is required
• Experience building and maintaining scalable data ingestion pipelines
• Experience with engineers as customers, ensuring efficient use of internal systems
• Experience with Ruby or Go
