Assistant General Counsel (Litigation)

• Support litigation enterprise-wide, manage individual and class action litigation, and conduct internal fact investigations.
• Supervise and collaborate with outside counsel to develop and execute effective litigation strategies.
• Advise business leaders on litigation strategy and dispute resolution, and track all assigned claims and litigation matters.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to analyze local, state, and federal laws and provide clear, concise guidance to business partners
• Adaptability and willingness to quickly develop new areas of expertise
• Experience in consumer financial services or e-commerce is a plus; strong interest in developing deep industry knowledge is required
• Ability to take ownership of work, manage competing priorities under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle a high-volume workload
• Strong judgment, critical thinking, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage litigation matters independently and drive favorable outcomes
• Experience litigating in multiple jurisdictions (state, federal, and arbitration) is a plus
• 6+ years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or as in-house counsel
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, and active bar membership in good standing with at least one state; ability to practice in Illinois (licensed or under Illinois Supreme Court Rule 716)
