Software Engineer (Deal Flow & Underwriting)

Join our fast-growing company as a Senior Software Engineer. In this remote role, you will design, build, and operate mission-critical systems that power our deal and application lifecycle. You will own a slice of the product end-to-end, execute day-to-day responsibilities related to building and extending backend services and React frontends, and partner with product managers, QA, designers, and engineers across teams. You will also identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend expertise and a solid understanding of distributed systems and micro-service architecture.

• Design, build, and operate mission-critical systems that power the deal and application lifecycle, transitioning from a monolithic architecture to micro-services.
• Own a slice of the product end-to-end, from requirements through development, QA, and production, ensuring high-quality work in a dynamic business environment.
• Partner with product managers, QA, designers, and engineers across teams to support shared priorities and cross-team projects, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
• The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend expertise (Node.js/NestJS, TypeScript) and solid distributed-systems fundamentals and will be expected to own features end-to-end from requirements through development, QA, and production, lead technical design discussions, and mentor other engineers
• Experience with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, Go in production, including designing and operating APIs (REST/GraphQL) and relational data models (PostgreSQL)
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong backend focus
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex features end-to-end, partner with product and cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic business environment
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and micro-service architecture, including experience decomposing or migrating away from monolithic systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master's degree preferred), or equivalent practical experience
• Experience using Node.js, Go, GraphQL, AWS products, Redis, and React
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth, cross-functional environment
• Master's degree in Computer Science or additional training in distributed systems or software architecture
• Prior experience in fintech, insurance, or real estate technology
