About The Role

Join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and help shape the future of fabrication. You will be responsible for architecting, prototyping, building, and designing the hardware systems of our next-generation 3D printers. As a technical leader, you will guide junior colleagues' work and push the capabilities of 3D printing by creating innovative solutions to challenging problems. You should have 5+ years of industry experience, be familiar with polymers and polymer chemistry, and have programming skills in Python.

  • Architecting, prototyping, building, and designing the hardware systems of next-generation 3D printers.
  • Leading the design and creating tools for high-performance 3D printers, pushing the capabilities of 3D printing.
  • Collaborating with a team of engineers to prototype new systems, mechanisms, and test materials.
  • Have experience with the full product development cycle
  • Are hands on and can work across disciplines to prototype your own designs and solve problems
  • Familiar with thermal systems, optical systems, sensor design, controllers, structures and algorithms
  • Want to build a precision tool that is beautiful inside and out
  • Are familiar with a variety of manufacturing methods for creating high-volume and high performance products
  • Enjoy the gritty details of part design, material selection and manufacturing techniques
  • Can communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers across the globe
  • Can share a strong portfolio of previous work with a background in electro-mechanical systems
  • Craft elegant systems that function with efficiency and simplicity
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Familiar with polymers and polymer chemistry
  • PLM/document control systems
  • Electronics and circuit design
  • Programming skills (Python)
  • Industrial design
