Senior Group VAT Manager (Maternity Cover)

Join our Group Finance team as a Senior Group VAT Manager (Maternity Cover). In this newly created role, you will be responsible for all aspects of VAT compliance for the Group, primarily focusing on EMEA and the UK. You will manage VAT submissions and payments, support the Head of Tax on various projects, and provide technical input for Intrastat and EC sales listing declarations. Additionally, you will assist with indirect tax audits and support the advancement of our long-term VAT technology strategy. • Assisting with all aspects of VAT compliance for the Group, primarily responsible for EMEA and UK.
• Managing and leading the preparation of VAT compliance in EMEA, liaising with tax advisors, and ensuring on-time delivery.
• Supporting the Head of Tax on ad hoc tax and customs projects, providing technical input and support for Intrastat and EC sales listing declarations.
• Advanced excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot tables, Sum If, etc)
• Flexible & proactive, with an eagerness to learn
• Good understanding of UK taxes (mainly corporation tax and VAT)
• Professional qualification in accounting or tax
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience in a multinational company either ideally in an indirect tax function, or from an accounting and tax services advisory firm
• Comfortable dealing with a cross section of stakeholders, both finance and non-finance
• Highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively within a scaling business
• Ability to think logically and methodically
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• CTA or equivalent is preferred
• Excellent organisational skills, with proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, having the confidence to communicate clearly with senior management and challenge commercial teams
