About The Role
Join Reddit as a Staff Product Designer (Consumer) in the Growth Design team. In this role, you will define how millions of users engage with the platform, navigate ambiguity, and lead cross-functional squads. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on user acquisition, app conversion, and retention.
- Lead the design process from concept to execution, transforming vague problems into clear project scopes and design strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, acting as a strategic partner and co-architect of the product roadmap, not just a service provider.
- Maintain a high bar for visual and interaction design, serving as a benchmark for the broader design organization and proposing new components for the design systems team.
- Proficiency in prototyping via code using tools like Cursor, along with a belief that the best way to test an idea is to build it
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates mastery of craft, systems thinking, and measurable impact on acquisition, conversion, retention, or other core growth outcomes
- Comfortable working in an environment defined by rapid iteration, A/B testing, and pivoting based on performance data
- Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives for senior and executive-level reviews
- Proven ability to operate at Staff scope, driving impact beyond a single team or feature area and influencing product direction across a broader portfolio
- 8-10+ years of product design experience, ideally in growth, platform, or high-scale consumer technology environments
- Strong judgment and leadership presence, with the ability to navigate complexity, create clarity, and influence cross-functional teams through ambiguity
