Vice President of Engineering

Join Cape, a groundbreaking telecommunications company, as the Vice President of Engineering. In this role, you will lead a talented and creative engineering team, driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of what a telco can achieve. You will be responsible for growing and motivating the engineering organization, developing leaders, establishing clear goals, and creating an environment where engineers can excel. You will also serve as the company's technical face in senior-level meetings and work with the CEO to develop and execute the company's strategy. This position is based in our NYC office and reports to our founder and CEO, John Doyle.

• Lead and motivate a high-performing engineering organization, establishing clear goals and operating rhythms to ensure successful delivery of complex products.
• Serve as the company's technical face in senior-level meetings, translating business and technical strategy into an executable engineering roadmap.
• Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute the company's strategy, advocating for the engineering team and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Clear written and verbal comms
• Impeccable technical chops
• 3 years of people leadership, including hiring, promoting, and performance management. Have mentored at least one direct report to become a successful lead
• Genuine excitement about both privacy and defense use cases (they turn out to be the same use case)
• 9 years experience, at least one startup or growth tech company
• Existing security clearance or willingness to get one
• Telecommunications or network experience
• Security, privacy, or defense background
