Web Developer

Join Cape, a privacy-first mobile carrier and security company, as a contract web developer. You will be the primary owner of our marketing website and related web properties, working closely with our engineering, marketing, and product teams. Your responsibilities will include content updates, new page builds, and larger features, with an estimated workload of 12-25 hours per week. You should have a strong understanding of web security, experience with Vercel deployments and CI/CD pipelines, and proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Next.js.

• Assumer la responsabilité principale de la gestion et de la maintenance du site web marketing de l'entreprise, en effectuant des mises à jour de contenu, des constructions de nouvelles pages et des fonctionnalités plus importantes.
• Déployer et gérer les versions de production, surveiller les builds, diagnostiquer les échecs, optimiser les pipelines de construction et mettre en œuvre des mises à jour de conception.
• Mettre en œuvre et maintenir les meilleures pratiques en matière de référencement (balises méta, directives robots, etc.) et identifier et remédier rapidement aux vulnérabilités de sécurité.
• Familiarity with web security fundamentals — query injection, API key hygiene, env var security
• Experience with Vercel deployments and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency working from Figma - able to extract specs, assets, and layout details and implement them faithfully in code
• Experience with image optimization workflows (WebP conversion, responsive images)
• Experience with marketing analytics tools like Mixpanel, Google Ads, Meta, and demonstrated ability to implement web analytics beyond out-of-the-box implementations, such as the ability to set up custom event tracking, conversion tracking, and server-side data collection in a way that prioritizes user privacy and minimizes unnecessary third-party data exposure
• Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Next.js (or similar React frameworks)
• A good eye for design and UX detail - you won’t be creating designs, but you should be able to catch inconsistencies or UX issues during implementation and flag them proactively
• Hands-on experience with headless CMS platforms like Sanity
• Familiarity with Node.js version management and dependency tooling
• Cross-browser compatibility experience (we have a significant private browser user base)
• Ability to independently review, test, and merge PRs with minimal hand-holding
• Security-minded mindset; previous experience with vulnerability remediation is a big plus
