About The Role
Join Remitly, a leading financial services company dedicated to transforming lives through trusted financial services. As the Head of Finance for Remitly Europe, you will play a crucial role in driving financial planning, revenue optimization, and unit economics in partnership with regional business leaders. You will lead the REL finance team, act as a key advisor to the REL Executive Management Team and Board, and serve as the day-to-day Finance partner to the leaders driving our Europe business. This is a hybrid role based in Dublin.
- Serve as the primary Finance business partner for Remitly's Europe send region, driving financial planning, revenue optimization, and unit economics in close partnership with regional business leaders.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking for the Europe send business, delivering data-driven insights that inform investment and resource allocation decisions.
- Oversee statutory reporting compliance for REL, ensuring all accounting, audit, tax, and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time.
- This role is designated as a Controlled Function (CF) under the CBI's Fitness & Probity Regime, currently encompassing both the Head of Finance and Head of Safeguarding PCF designations for REL. The successful candidate must satisfy the CBI's Fitness & Probity Standards and will be required to complete a Fitness & Probity Declaration prior to appointment
- Strong background in financial controls, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance, combined with the commercial acumen to influence pricing, growth, and investment decisions
- Significant experience in FP&A, business finance, or strategic finance, with a track record of financial modeling, forecasting, and driving business outcomes through partnership with senior stakeholders
- Eligibility to satisfy the CBI's Fitness & Probity Standards for a Controlled Function
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 8–10+ years of progressive post-qualification finance experience
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the executive presence to engage senior leadership, the Board, and regulatory stakeholders
- Direct experience working within a CBI-regulated or equivalent European financial services firm (payment institution, e-money institution, or bank), with strong working knowledge of PSD2 / PSR 2018 safeguarding requirements
- FinTech or payments industry experience
- Experience managing or contributing to wind-down planning processes
- Familiarity with CBI supervisory expectations, including engagement with the CBI's PRISM supervisory framework
- Experience working in a multinational or globally matrixed organisation
- Knowledge of FRS 102 and/or US GAAP
