About The Role

Join Turion Space, a rapidly growing aerospace company, as a Controller. In this strategic and hands-on role, you will lead the company's accounting function, oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance. You will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements, and ensuring timely reporting to executive leadership, investors, lenders, and the Board. You will also develop accounting policies, lead various accounting functions, establish scalable processes, and coordinate audits and tax filings. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in high-growth technology, aerospace, manufacturing, or government contracting environments, and holds a CPA certification.

  • The ideal candidate has experience leading accounting organizations in high-growth technology, aerospace, manufacturing, or government contracting environments and is equally comfortable closing the books, improving systems, and building processes from the ground up
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) required
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
  • Experience implementing or managing ERP systems
  • Experience serving as Controller, Assistant Controller, Manager of Accounting, or equivalent
  • Experience leading audits and managing external auditors
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online, NetSuite or similar cloud ERP platforms
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or hardware technology companies
  • Government contracting and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance experience
  • Experience with venture-backed or high-growth startups
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting, standard costing, and project accounting
  • This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
