About The Role
Join Postman as a Senior Software Engineer in Marketing Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation, inventory, monitoring, and performance of all third-party integrations that impact our web properties. You will work closely with leadership, legal, marketing engineering, and third-party vendors to ensure compliance, quality, and performance. - Implementing, inventorying, tracking, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of third-party integrations.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, including Leadership, Legal, Marketing Engineering, and third-party vendors, to ensure compliance and quality.
- Utilizing a variety of programming languages and technologies to address challenges and complete projects related to third-party integrations.
- You can step onto an established, functioning system, get up to speed quickly, and start forming opinions about what you see, without needing to rewrite everything to feel ownership
- You also work well as a specialist inside a team of six engineers that can help where you may need it. There will be lots of solo adventures in your work, and also times when you can’t get a project done without 5 other people involved
- You thrive in ambiguity and dive in anyway. This corner of the ecosystem shifts constantly with each new law, vendor change, and business need, and that's exactly what you find interesting about it
- You communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, make sound and informed judgment calls under competing priorities, and adapt quickly when direction shifts. This role has regular exposure to Leadership, so you bring a composed, transparent approach to your work and stay steady when the work gets fast or messy
- Based in or near San Francisco. This role is 5 days a week in-office at 1 Market St., non-negotiable
- You communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, make sound and informed judgment calls under competing priorities, and adapt quickly when direction shifts
- Strong investigative and debugging skills, with the patience to dig through logs, network traces, and vendor docs until the issue is genuinely understood
- A solid understanding of what ad-/content-blockers, Pi-holes, browser opinions, and the like, do to this work
- Hands-on experience implementing third-party APIs, pixels, beacons/trackers, and scripts. This is the core to the role, and should not be your first rodeo
- Experience monitoring third-party implementations and integrations for uptime and data integrity
- Strong working experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js (or an equivalent frontend framework)
- Experience with projects under GDPR and adjacent regulations, including cookie compliance and consent banners
- Building dashboards and reporting on top of your monitoring of third-party trackers
- Experience using AI tools for coding, testing, evaluation, and research, particularly inside a legacy codebase. We're heavily invested in AI workflows at every step
- A/B testing experience with LaunchDarkly or similar
- Familiarity with Sentry, Transcend, common martech pixels, LaunchDarkly, AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers, Marketo, Qualified, and the like
