Staff Product Manager (Billing)
Lambda · United States
About The Role
Join Lambda, a fast-growing AI cloud company, as a Staff Product Manager for Billing. In this role, you will own the full monetization surface, partnering with finance, platform engineering, and go-to-market teams. You will define product requirements for usage metering, drive billing accuracy, manage the credits and invoicing lifecycle, and extend billing through the Lambda Cloud API. You will also measure and iterate on the billing experience. This position offers a competitive benefits package and the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's success.
- Define product requirements for per-minute usage metering across Lambda's on-demand GPU fleet, including accuracy standards, reconciliation, and how the system behaves during instance lifecycle edge cases.
- Own the full monetization surface, partnering daily with finance on revenue correctness, with platform engineering on the metering and billing pipeline, and with go-to-market teams on how pricing and packaging show up to customers.
- Drive reconciliation and audit mechanisms with finance and platform engineering, and treat a wrong invoice as a launch-blocking defect.
- Deep billing domain experience is a plus
- If you love problems where fintech-grade correctness meets developer experience, and you want your work to touch every dollar a fast-growing AI cloud earns, we'd love to hear from you
- Able to define iterative plans that move an organization from the current state towards the desired outcome
- Are comfortable reasoning about distributed systems concepts that billing correctness depends on, such as event pipelines, idempotency, and reconciliation
- Turn usage patterns, revenue reports, and support tickets into a clear decision about what to build next, and why now
- Win engineers, designers, finance partners, executives, and customers over to your ideas by making the case, not by outranking them
- Can work fluently with finance stakeholders on revenue recognition, invoicing, and audit requirements without losing the customer's perspective
- Have 7+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years on platform, infrastructure, or other technical products
- Have taken products from ambiguous problem statement through launch, measurement, and iteration, repeatedly
- Write product documents that state the problem, the evidence, and the decision in a form others can act on
- Have a background in fintech or payments where correctness carried financial and regulatory consequences
- Have built billing, metering, or monetization platforms, especially for usage-based pricing
- Have worked on cloud cost management or spend visibility products
- Are familiar with GPU cloud or AI infrastructure and how customers consume it
- Are fluent in SQL (Structured Query Language) or similar tools for independent data analysis
- We value diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skills, and we are excited to hear from candidates who can bring unique perspectives to our team. If you do not exactly meet this description but believe you may be a good fit, please still apply and help us understand your readiness for this role
