Software Engineer (Sandbox Service)

Join xAI as a Software Engineer on the Sandbox service team. You will build and maintain a secure, scalable system that provides our models with controlled access to computational environments. Your work will span the full stack, from orchestrating massive jobs and resource scheduling to fine-tuning filesystem performance. You will enable Grok to safely run and test code in real-time and support reinforcement learning in training. • Concevoir et maintenir un système sécurisé et évolutif qui permet à nos modèles d'accéder en toute sécurité à des environnements informatiques.
• Provisionner des conteneurs et des machines virtuelles sur des clusters à grande échelle, en accordant aux modèles un contrôle interactif sur ces environnements distants.
• Travailler sur l'ensemble de la pile, de l'orchestration de travaux massifs et de la planification des ressources au niveau du cluster, à l'optimisation des performances du système de fichiers sur les nœuds.
• Deep experience with either Linux or Windows systems (familiarity with both is a strong plus)
• Expert knowledge of Rust, C++ or Go
• Experience with virtualisation and containerisation technologies (e.g., cgroups, KVM, gVisor, QEMU)
• Familiarity with Python
• Solid knowledge of the networking stack
• Candidates must be willing to attend late meetings at least once a week to coordinate with the rest of our team in Palo Alto
