About The Role
Join IEX, a leading financial technology company, as a Commercial Counsel. In this role, you will be the primary legal point of contact for commercial contracting and employment-related matters. You will draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, advise on employment matters, and support the development of internal policies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide legal guidance on day-to-day business operations. - Act as the primary legal point of contact for commercial contracting across the business, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements.
- Advise on a broad range of employment matters, including hiring, terminations, performance management, and employee relations, and draft and update employment agreements.
- Provide legal guidance on day-to-day business operations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support internal policy development and implementation.
- Excellent agreement drafting and negotiating skills
- Practical, business-oriented mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Firm dedication to the core values of IEX - belief in fairness and transparency in the financial markets
- Ability to think strategically as well as execute tactically - not afraid to get into the weeds
- Law degree (JD) from accredited law school
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines
- NY Bar membership required
- 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in large law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Business-minded, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented
- Strong experience in commercial contracts and employment law matters
