Accounting Manager

Join Steadily, a fast-growing P&C insurance MGA, as an Accounting Manager. In this role, you will own the close, build the next-generation accounting function, and use AI to enhance efficiency. You will report directly to the CFO and work closely with senior leadership, making a meaningful impact on the company's growth. Responsibilities include managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, overseeing commission revenue accounting, and leading audit preparation and execution. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, a strong understanding of GAAP, and a curiosity for revenue accounting.

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and consolidation.
• Run commission revenue accounting, including multi-carrier commission and override calculations, contract revenue, and deferred revenue treatment under ASC 606.
• Use AI to shorten the close cycle, automate reconciliations, and reduce manual journal entry volume, while managing core accounting operations.
• 5+ years of accounting experience. Strong preference for in-house experience at a fast-growing company
• CPA strongly preferred (or actively progressing toward it)
• Big 4 / public-accounting candidates actively looking to move into industry are also welcome, especially those with audit experience in financial services, fintech, insurance, or scale-up tech
• Comfortable wearing many hats, working autonomously, and building processes where they do not yet exist
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements
• Revenue accounting depth or curiosity. Commission revenue, SaaS revenue, ASC 606, or insurance MGA / broker accounting are all directly relevant
