Engineering Manager (Platform)

Join Render, a fast-growing platform for developers. As the Engineering Manager for the newly formed Platform team, you will lead a group of talented engineers in modernizing Render's internal developer platform and shared production infrastructure. You will drive execution on key product initiatives, foster a culture of ownership and accountability, and engage deeply in technical discussions. • Lead and grow a team of platform engineers, supporting their development through mentorship, feedback, and clear technical guidance.
• Drive execution on key product initiatives from ideation through launch, balancing speed with high standards of reliability and quality.

• The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background, a deep sense of ownership, and a passion for building products that developers love
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design
• Strong technical background with the ability to engage deeply in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs
• Deep experience with open source technologies supporting an internal platform tool or cluster, build & deployment systems, CI/CD, observability, and/or configuration management
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability for both team outcomes and long-term system health
• 4+ years of experience managing people and developing engineers, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management
• Ability to translate engineering goals and user needs into roadmaps and shipped features
• Experience improving Reliability and/or Developer Experience through tooling, processes, and team practices
• 8+ years as an Engineer on an Infrastructure or similarly shaped team shipping products or features for other developers
