About The Role
Join Adyen, a leading global payment company, as a Senior Development Tooling Engineer. In this role, you will work on a distributed, real-time system with performance and security requirements. Your primary focus will be developing tools and applications to enhance the developer experience for other software engineers at Adyen. You will collaborate closely with various teams involved in the build and release process, as well as those responsible for our underlying on-premises infrastructure. - Developing tools and applications to enhance the developer experience (DevEx) for other Software Engineers at Adyen.
- Automating processes, providing tooling, and advocating development/SDLC best practices to the rest of the organization.
- Working closely with teams involved in the build and release process, and with teams that build the underlying on-premises infrastructure.
- Programming Skills: 7+ years of experience in maintaining high availability in a constantly running system built in multiple languages, proficiency in either Java, Python or Golang is a must. You should also be comfortable with bash scripting
- Linux Background: 2+ years of strong experience working with Linux, particularly in building containers in ephemeral environments
- DevEx expert: Able to design and create tools, flows, and setups that provide an amazing developer experience. Great at navigating existing stacks to find and implement improvements
- Mentor: Able to upskill your peers
- Infrastructure as Code: At least surface knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Puppet for system configuration and automation
- Diagnostic Skills: Capable of diagnosing problems effectively and making quick, informed decisions
- Containerization: Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- Owner: Own projects that require coordination between teams and push them through to the end
- Building and Automating: Proven track record in developing CI/CD tooling and applications, automating legacy processes to meet modern development standards
- CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with writing and maintaining GitLab and Jenkins pipelines
