Senior Software Engineer (Customer Interfaces)

Join Adyen, a leading global payment company, as a Senior Software Engineer for Customer Interfaces. In this role, you will lead the evolution of Adyen's experience platform, building foundational frameworks and AI-integrated guardrails. • Lead the evolution of Adyen’s experience platform by building foundational frameworks, AI-integrated guardrails, and component libraries.
• Design and architect backend integration, ensuring performant Java services that orchestrate data pipelines and integrate with Agentic workflows.
• Collaborate directly with Product Management to identify high-impact merchant workflows, translating ambiguous merchant problems into simple, high-velocity technical solutions.
• High Ownership & Influence: Comfortable driving cross-team technical alignment, mentoring engineers, conducting rigorous code reviews, and collaborating with global engineering hubs
• Full-Stack Technical Depth: Deeply proficient in Java for high-concurrency backend services, with architectural competence to integrate and support Agentic workflows (Python). Experienced with Vue/Preact for complex, stateful web applications
• Security-First Mindset: A "security-by-design" approach to handling sensitive financial data, user authorization, and zero-trust access in web environments
• Applied AI Systems & Safety: Hands-on experience (or strong architectural competence) with production-grade Agentic AI integrations, including policy layers, evaluation frameworks, RAG architectures, and deterministic execution boundaries
• Currently operating as a Senior Software Engineer (or equivalent level) with a track record of taking full ownership of complex, distributed web applications
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in a fast-paced technology environment
• Experience working in monorepo environments and managing complex dependency chains across large-scale distributed systems
