Staff Engineer (Financial Products)

Join Adyen, a global payment company, as a Staff Engineer (Financial Products). In this role, you will be a technical leader, shaping the architecture, design, and execution of critical systems that power Adyen's financial products. You will work closely with engineering teams, product partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges and drive technical excellence. Your expertise will guide the direction of our technology stack and influence best practices.

• Provide architectural and design leadership to build a strong foundation for Adyen's Financial Products offering.
• Mentor engineers to uphold high standards of technical excellence and drive a culture of continuous innovation.
• Work closely with engineering teams, product partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges.
• Technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and leading an engineering strategy
• 2+ years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in the banking or fintech sector
• Platform mindset. Able to generalize complex processes and create simple and flexible services to support multiple products
• Hands-on experience designing and building large scale distributed systems
• Strong background and hands-on experience coding with Java
• Proactive relationship-builder with strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders across cultures
• Self-starter who can identify problems and figure out solutions
• 10+ years of hands-on development experience in a modern engineering environment
