Staff Engineer (Customer Interfaces)

Join Adyen as a Staff Engineer for Customer Interfaces, where you will lead the evolution of the Adyen experience into an intelligent, conversational financial partner. You will drive the next generation of conversational UIs, bridge architecture and innovation, and ensure the security of conversational interfaces. You will also own the end-to-end technical lifecycle and mentor engineers while coordinating with global hubs.

• Lead the evolution of the Adyen experience from a traditional dashboard into an intelligent, conversational financial partner.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for AI initiatives, coordinating their integration and ensuring operational excellence with teams in different areas and global geographies.
• Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle, from backend services and data pipelines that feed our insights, to the frontend components that render them.
• We are looking for a product engineer who can wear an architectural hat to build Agentic Workflows and manage backend orchestration (specifically Tool-use, Chains, and Policy Layers)
• Security First: You have a "security-by-design" mindset, particularly regarding the handling of sensitive financial data in modern web environments
• Product-Minded Architect: You think in terms of user outcomes. You have a track record of partnering with product teams to turn ambiguous goals into robust technical reality
• Applied AI Experience: You have experience (or a deep technical interest) in building production-grade interfaces powered by LLMs, including harnesses, policy enforcement, evals, RAG architectures and secure data handling
• Full-Stack Powerhouse: Deeply proficient in Java for secure backend services and TypeScript/React/Vue for complex front-end applications
