Senior Software Engineer (molab)

Join the molab team, a high-impact group focused on developing a cloud-hosted marimo notebook service. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and implement the backend architecture, ensuring high availability, low latency, and stability. You will also build product features as needed. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong fundamentals, and experience with cloud infrastructure and Python.

• Design and implement the backend architecture of the molab service, focusing on high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance.
• Build product features as needed, such as secret management, and contribute to the overall development of the molab service.
• Collaborate with the team to solve challenging engineering problems at scale, and contribute to the growth and improvement of the molab service.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience with computer systems, including parallel computing (threading, multiprocessing), concurrency (asynchronous programming), networking/inter-process communication
• Strong fundamentals that are language agnostic
• Experience building highly available, fault-tolerant systems
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal†
• Experience with containerization, container orchestration (kubernetes), scheduling, networked filesystems, resource allocation, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
• Basic experience with or awareness of the Python stack for AI/ML
• Proficiency with Python and Python packaging
• Empathy for practitioners and researchers in AI, ML, data engineering, NLP, or other quantitative work
