Staff Software Engineer (Storage)

Join our team as a Staff Software Engineer (Storage) and play a key role in designing, building, and operating the file and block storage behind our high-performance AI storage platform. You will work closely with infrastructure, compute, and platform teams to create reliable, scalable, and high-throughput systems that power some of the largest and most innovative AI workloads in the world. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing highly scalable multi-tenant file and block storage, building distributed file storage and durable block volumes, and improving reliability, durability, and observability across the storage stack. You will also mentor other engineers and partner with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver storage capabilities across the stack.

• Design, build, and operate file and block storage systems for high-performance AI workloads.
• Implement highly scalable multi-tenant storage solutions, including distributed file storage and durable block volumes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver storage capabilities and mentor other engineers.
• 10+ years in storage systems engineering or infrastructure
• Storage observability and telemetry pipelines (e.g., ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Storage protocols (e.g. NFS, S3) and file systems such as Ceph, Lustre, DAOS, or similar
• Cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architecture
• Hands-on production experience with distributed file systems or block storage
• Strong debugging in distributed, high-performance environments, and clear communication across teams
• Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Rust, C++, or Go
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• You love owning a system from whiteboard to production
