Senior AI Automation Engineer

Join BetterUp as a Senior AI Automation Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of applied agent engineering. You'll work closely with various departments to understand their workflows, apply AI solutions, and reimagine future possibilities. This role is a mix of product and engineering, with a focus on building reliable AI agents and integrating them into BetterUp's existing systems. You'll also have the opportunity to multiply your impact by reviewing other builders' integrations and sharing best practices.

• You publish your work where you can: open-source, write-ups, demos, or conference talks
• A founder's bias for action and a senior engineer's obsession with quality
• Full-lifecycle ownership, from the first discovery call to the tenth production bug
• The ability to sit with a non-technical operator, understand their actual workflow rather than what they think the solution is, and translate it into a working agent or automation
• Comfort when the problem isn't fully scoped, and a preference for finding the right work over waiting for it
• 7+ years of engineering experience, with a track record of shipping real systems at scale
