Senior Engineering Manager (Consumption Based Billing & Licensing)

Join Asana as a Senior Engineering Manager, where you will lead and grow a team of engineers working on backend systems, platform services, and customer-facing experiences. You will set the technical direction, shape the roadmap for licensing and billing capabilities, and drive execution on various projects. • Lead and grow a team of engineers working across backend systems, platform services, and customer-facing experiences.
• Set technical direction and help shape the roadmap for licensing and billing capabilities.
• Drive execution on projects such as licensing and access control, usage tracking and billing, and admin dashboards.
• Experience working on fintech systems with real business impact, such as billing, monetization, entitlements, payments, or other infrastructure-heavy domains
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and move work forward across multiple stakeholders and dependencies
• Track record of hiring, coaching, and developing engineers
• Strong technical judgment and comfort discussing architecture, data models, APIs, and system reliability
• Clear, practical communication style and strong cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong engineering management experience, ideally at the level of leading a team through complex product and platform work
• A product mindset and curiosity about how technology supports new business models
• Background in platform, backend, or distributed systems work
• Experience with SaaS billing, licensing, or entitlement systems
• Experience working in a fast-moving product environment with evolving requirements
• Experience with usage-based or consumption-based pricing models
• Experience building admin tools or customer-facing operational dashboards
