Software Engineer (Communications Integrations)

About The Role
Join Asana as a Software Engineer on our Communications Integrations team. You will be responsible for building end-to-end features, owning how Asana connects to popular tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and email. This high-impact role involves collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers across the company to deliver reliable and delightful integrations. You will lead small-to-medium projects, diagnose and resolve complex bugs, and contribute to the long-term health of the codebase. - Takes full ownership of the lifecycle of your work, from initial design through production maintenance, including follow-through on operational improvements
- Writes clean, well-tested, and well-documented code, submitting PRs that are easy to review, logically structured, and backed by clear reasoning and reproducible test plans
- Approaches debugging and incidents with rigor, showing comfort digging into unfamiliar systems, isolating root causes, and driving durable fixes
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
- Experience building and maintaining integrations with third-party APIs or external platforms (e.g., OAuth authorization flows, webhook pipelines, or notification systems), and a solid understanding of the operational realities that come with them
- Ability to operate independently on well-scoped projects, navigating ambiguity, identifying missing requirements, and proactively surfacing trade-offs before they become blockers
