About The Role

Join ICON, a leading construction technology company, as a Product Designer. In this role, you will own the user experience for a core product area within BuildOS, our software platform used by architects, builders, and construction operators. You will lead end-to-end UX work, from discovery research through design handoff, and collaborate with engineers, product leadership, and internal and external customers. This position is based in Austin, TX and reports to the Director of Product.

  • Experience running user interviews and turning qualitative research into design decisions
  • Clear communication skills. You can explain design choices to engineers, leaders, and customers
  • Comfort working through ambiguity. You can define the problem, not just solve a defined one
  • A portfolio showing end-to-end design work — research through shipped product, not visual design alone
  • Experience designing for workflows with real constraints, not only consumer apps
  • 3+ in UX design, product design, or a similar role
  • Strong fluency with Figma or a similar tool for wireframing, prototyping, and design systems
  • Familiarity with 3D visualization, CAD tools, or spatial design interfaces
  • Experience in construction technology, architecture, manufacturing, robotics, or another hardware-adjacent field
  • Experience writing product specs or PRDs alongside design work
  • Background in Jobs-to-Be-Done, continuous discovery, or similar product research frameworks
  • Experience with design systems and component-based design patterns
