Senior Software Engineer (Performance)

Join Nuro's Performance team as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will optimize the performance of our autonomous vehicle software, ensuring quick and safe reactions to the environment. You will analyze, profile, debug, monitor, and optimize AV software performance, design and develop systems for memory management and thread prioritization, and collaborate with engineers from different teams to define system-level architecture. You will also build core libraries and APIs to enable high-performance code writing and promote best practices within the team and organization.

• Analyser, profile, debug, monitor, and optimize the performance of autonomous vehicle software.
• Design and develop systems and tools for memory management, thread prioritization, process/thread lifetime management.
• Work with engineers from different teams to define the system-level architecture and building blocks.
• Experience with performance optimizations and software porting across a variety of compute architectures - like x86, ARM, GPUs, SoCs
• BS, MS or PhD in CS, or related technical field
• Experience with performance profiling tools such as perf, VTune, BPF, Nvidia Nsight Systems
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Expertise in computer architecture and operating systems
• Strong system fundamentals and proficiency in C++
• Experience developing in a highly-concurrent, multi-processor, and multi-threaded environment
• Experience with GPU programming (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL) and low level driver optimization for Nvidia GPUs
• Experience with Nvidia DriveOS or ROS
