Software Engineer (Performance, New Graduate)

About The Role
Join Nuro's Performance team as a Software Engineer. You will optimize the performance of our autonomous vehicle software, ensuring quick and safe reactions to the environment. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and optimizing AV software performance, designing and developing systems for memory management and thread prioritization, and collaborating with engineers from different teams. You will also build core libraries and APIs to enable high-performance code writing and promote best practices within the team and organization.
- Analyzing, profiling, debugging, monitoring, and optimizing the performance of autonomous vehicle software.
- Designing and developing systems and tools for memory management, thread prioritization, and process/thread lifetime management.
- Building core libraries and APIs to enable autonomy engineers to write high-performance code and drive best practices within the team.
- Expertise in computer architecture and operating systems
- BS, MS or PhD in CS, or related technical field
- Experience with performance optimizations and software porting across a variety of compute architectures - like x86, ARM, GPUs, SoCs
- Experience developing in a highly concurrent, multi-processor, and multi-threaded environment
- Strong system fundamentals and proficiency in C++
- Experience with performance profiling tools such as perf, VTune, BPF, Nvidia Nsight Systems
- Experience with Nvidia DriveOS or ROS
- Experience with GPU programming (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL) and low-level driver optimization for Nvidia GPUs
