Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial)

Join Moonbug, a rapidly growing global entertainment business, as a Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial). In this role, you will provide expert legal advice on brand partnerships, marketing, and commercial initiatives for popular brands like CoComelon and Blippi. You will lead negotiations, structure complex transactions, and contribute to the development of legal strategies and policies. The ideal candidate will have 8-10+ years of experience in media, entertainment, technology, or consumer sectors, with a deep understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and extensive experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.

• Act as a key legal partner to senior business stakeholders, providing expert, commercially-driven legal advice across brand partnerships, marketing, and broader commercial initiatives.
• Lead negotiation and drafting of sophisticated commercial agreements, including global brand partnerships, advertising, sponsorship, and endorsement deals.
• Provide strategic, forward-looking legal advice aligned with Moonbug’s growth objectives and risk appetite, and contribute to the development and implementation of legal strategies, policies, and frameworks across the business.
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably on multiple projects under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
• Confident, credible, and influential communicator
• 8–10+ years’ experience in a leading law firm and/or in-house within media, entertainment, technology, or consumer sectors
• Deep understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., FTC, COPPA, FCC)
• Extensive experience of commercial contract drafting and negotiating
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in New York or California
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial, advertising, and brand partnership matters
• Collaborative mindset with leadership presence
• Resilient under pressure with excellent judgment
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts
• Knowledge of YouTube channels and advertising on such channels is desirable as is some knowledge of UK/EU advertising laws, data protection
• Highly adaptable, solutions-oriented, and pragmatic
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic decision-making
