About The Role

Join Legion Technologies as the General Counsel, where you will lead the global legal, intellectual property, and corporate functions. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will develop and execute a comprehensive legal strategy, advise the CEO and Board on key legal matters, and build a high-performing in-house legal team. You will also oversee corporate governance, commercial operations, privacy and data protection, labor and employment, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and risk management.   • Lead Legion’s global legal, intellectual property, and corporate functions, and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive legal strategy that aligns with Legion’s business objectives and growth plans, and advise on key legal, regulatory, and governance matters.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing in-house legal team; manage external counsel efficiently across specialties and jurisdictions.
  • Deep experience advising on:
  • 15+ years of combined experience in top-tier law firm and in-house roles, with significant time as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, or senior deputy GC at a high-growth technology or SaaS company
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
  • IP strategy and licensing
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading legal teams that support rapid growth and international expansion
  • Data privacy and security
  • Corporate governance and venture-backed/private equity-backed company issues
  • Enterprise SaaS and commercial contracting
  • Proven ability to operate as a business-minded advisor, balancing risk with strategic and commercial objectives
  • Experience in HR tech, workforce management, fintech, or other data-intensive SaaS businesses
  • Prior leadership supporting AI/ML products and associated ethical, regulatory, and data governance issues
  • Experience supporting global customers and operations across North America, EMEA, and APAC
  • Prior work with large enterprise and strategic partners (e.g., SAP, other HCM vendors)
  • Passion for Legion’s mission to transform hourly jobs and improve the experience of frontline workers
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders
  • Exceptional judgment, integrity, and discretion; trusted partner to executives and Board
  • Highly collaborative, low-ego leadership style with a focus on enabling the business
  • Bias toward practicality and speed; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
