About The Role

Join our team as an R&D Electrical Test Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing new autonomous vehicle concepts and prototypes. You will engage in engineering, designing, and testing of multi-disciplinary systems, and apply your expertise in mechanical, electrical, electronics, and software. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, developing design documents, integrating systems, and leading testing efforts in the laboratory and field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, experience in autonomous vehicles or marine systems, and proficiency in software skills including Linux, Python, and C/C++.

  • Participate in technical activities including engineering, designing, and testing of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software driven systems in the process of developing various autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Conduct research, document findings, and present reports; develop design documents for parts, sub-systems, and final integrated systems.
  • Lead testing efforts in the laboratory and in the field, including on marine environments; identify trends in runtime and failures of ASV components, subsystems, and systems.
  • Software skills including Linux, Python, C/C++
  • Strong understanding and skills in engineering fundamentals, best practices, and analysis methods including analytical first principles, numerical methods, and simulation modeling
  • Finite element analysis (FEA) including static, dynamic, and modal on various electro-mechanical structures and systems
  • Maritime operations including offshore support preferred
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Ability to work in collaborative or independent environments
  • Field experience operating, maintaining, diagnosing, testing, and repairing electro-mechanical systems
  • BS in mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, robotics, or similar
  • Autonomous vehicle experience or Marine systems experience including surface, subsurface, and deep sea experience preferred
  • Generating drawings, schematics, bill of materials, and work instructions for manufacturing and assembly
  • CAD modeling parts and assemblies
