About The Role
Join our team as a Senior Systems Engineer, where you will lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of our data center infrastructure. This critical role requires deep technical expertise in both Windows and Linux environments, extensive experience with monitoring and disaster recovery solutions, and a strong foundation in virtualization, cloud services, and storage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize storage and compute infrastructure, and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.
- Lead the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of data center infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient systems in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud), and administer and maintain enterprise Windows and Linux systems.
- Develop and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies, and optimize storage and compute infrastructure for high performance and cost-effectiveness.
- This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Ceph)
- Proven experience in data center design, build-out, and operations
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/AWS GovCloud, Azure, or GCP
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and integration with infrastructure systems
- Physical Demands:
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Occasional standing and walking within the office
- Proficiency in both Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) environments
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Strong knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik)
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
