About The Role

Join the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as the Manager of the Consumer Contracts Team (CCT). In this role, you will lead a team of specialists focused on ensuring fair and transparent contract terms for consumers. You will oversee casework, projects, and policy activities, working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver statutory objectives and support key FCA priorities. You will also shape a positive team culture, manage complex referrals, and lead policy development. The position offers hybrid working, 25 days of holiday, private healthcare, life assurance, a non-contributory pension, and income protection.

  • Lead and manage the Consumer Contracts Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes for consumers and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee complex referrals and casework, helping secure fair treatment and redress for consumers where appropriate, and carry out proactive projects to reduce risks.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, using clear communication to build trusted relationships and explain complex issues effectively.
  • Prior experience leading and developing teams, focused on enabling delivery through others and creating an inclusive, high-performing culture
  • Prior experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, using clear written and verbal communication to build trusted relationships and explain complex issues effectively
  • Prior experience working in a regulatory, enforcement, legal or compliance environment, with a clear focus on fairness, consumer protection and accountability
  • Familiarity with the FCA Handbook, particularly UNFCOG and the Consumer Duty
  • Legal or regulatory experience, ideally with knowledge of unfair terms legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Build effective relationships and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to meet shared objectives
  • A deep commitment to consumer protection and delivering positive outcomes for consumers
  • Willingness to learn, curiosity and the ability to adjust in an evolving regulatory setting
  • Advanced analytical skills and practical judgment, with the ability to weigh complex legal and regulatory risks
