Staff Electrical Engineer

Join our team as a Staff Electrical Engineer, where you will be responsible for researching, developing, designing, testing, and documenting electrical components and systems. You will work independently and as part of a team to support the development of capital equipment. Your role will involve designing and documenting electrical systems, proposing specifications, conducting validation, managing suppliers, and providing electrical expertise to other job functions. You will also conduct system-level integration and validation, drive continuous improvement, oversee fabrication and installation, manage small to mid-sized projects, and collaborate with hardware, software, and process teams.

• Research, develop, design, test, evaluate, and document electrical components, subassemblies, equipment, and systems.
• Design and document electrical systems and components, propose specifications, create test plans, and conduct validation.
• Manage small to mid-sized projects from concept to production, oversee and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Electrical engineering or a related field or higher
• 8+ years of experience in Electrical Systems Design and Development
• Hands on experience with prototyping, troubleshooting, manufacturing or installing complex capital equipment
• Experience with designing electrical systems for complex capital equipment in high value adding industries, such as additive, semiconductor or display
• 8+ years of ECAD experience (Solidworks Electrical)
• Experience with designing layout of Electrical Control Panel and Machine Cable Routing with Mechanical CAD software such as Solidworks
• Must have experience with Solidworks Electrical 3D for documentation of electrical designs
• Experience with Product Design Management and Product Life Management software, such as Solidworks PDM & Propel
• Experience with IEC 81346-1 Standard

• Solid knowledge and understanding of Automation Control Networks, Programmable Logic Controllers, Motion Control, Machine Safety Systems, AC/DC Power Distribution, Machinery Safety/Compliance Standards

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willing and able to work “Hands-on” to build, integrate and test newly developed systems and/or subsystems
• Self-driven and independent thinking. Ability to work independently
• Systems level thinker with experience working on complex electrical systems
• Good experience in ECAD design including GD&T, FEA and quality detail drawing documentation
• Metal additive manufacturing experience a plus but not required
• Experience with EtherCAT and IO-Link is a plus
• Experience with risk analysis methods such as FMEA or ISO12100
