About The Role

Join Waymark, a company dedicated to improving healthcare for low-income patients. As a Data/AI Scientist, you will build models and tools that support care teams in delivering better care to Medicaid patients. You will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers, develop and validate ML and AI models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position requires proficiency in Python, strong communication skills, and a genuine curiosity about healthcare.

  • Contribuer à la construction de modèles et d'outils pour aider les équipes de soins à livrer de meilleurs soins aux patients Medicaid.
  • Collaborer avec des équipes d'ingénierie, de produit et d'analytique pour comprendre les exigences et les traduire en solutions techniques.
  • Développer et maintenir du code Python pour le traitement des données, le développement de modèles et les pipelines ML, en suivant les meilleures pratiques d'ingénierie logicielle.
  • This is a position for someone who is technically strong, eager to learn healthcare data, and motivated by the idea that their work will directly affect the care of low-income patients
  • Python Proficiency: 3+ years of hands-on Python experience including academic and project work — demonstrated through a GitHub portfolio or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Solid foundations in statistical and machine learning methods, including classical ML and an understanding of modern AI and LLM applications
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, messy real-world datasets
  • A Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience working with Git and collaborating in a team codebase
  • Exposure to healthcare data (claims or EHR) through coursework, research, or work experience
  • Familiarity with ML experimentation practices — experiment tracking, model validation, reproducible workflows
  • 1-2 years of industry data science experience
  • Genuine curiosity about healthcare and its intersection with technology
