About The Role
Join Hadrian's Applications Engineering team as an Applications Engineer. You will develop innovative machining solutions, execute our Machining roadmap, and work closely with various teams to push the boundaries of machining at scale. Responsibilities include developing new capabilities, leading New Product Introduction (NPI) development, and serving as a subject matter expert. - Develop and implement innovative machining solutions to enhance throughput and capabilities in CNC programming, workholding, fixturing, tooling, and process control.
- Lead the development of new product introduction (NPI) parts that are high-risk and high-return on investment as part of onboarding new customers or technologies.
- Act as a subject matter expert, contributing to the product vision of the Copilot software and advising on tooling, machine selection, workholding, and process engineering.
- CNC Machine Operation – Ability to run and operate CNC machines including part setup, tool loading, tool offsets, spindle probing
- CAM Programming – 5+ years programming aerospace parts
- Communication– Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- GD&T – Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering print reading
- Machining Knowledge – Has applicable experience with a variety of machine types (mills, lathes), materials (alum, stainless, hard metals), tooling application, workholding, and fixture design
- Process Engineering – Has a track record of successfully machining difficult parts with stringent requirements. Understands the pitfalls of operation selection, material removal, tooling application, and material science
- Experience with hyperMILL, Heidenhain, Fanuc, NX, machining Inconel or Titanium, macro programming, mill-turn
- Strongly admired skills - Macro programming, software engineering skills, mechanical design, material science
- Experience with tap testing, FEA analysis, load monitoring, tool life monitoring, in-process inspection
