Backend Software Engineer

• Scope, architect, implement, and deploy critical backend services across multiple product verticals.
• Design and maintain reliable, scalable, and high-performance APIs and systems in a complex production environment.
• Engage in product discovery alongside experts in manufacturing and software—help define what needs to exist and what needs to be better.
• Know how to develop, deploy, and maintain backend and full-stack applications using a modern cloud or containerized stack
• Expertise in modern backend technologies, with a deep understanding of distributed systems, service architecture, data modeling, and scalable infrastructure design
• Strong ability and desire to write high-quality, maintainable code
• Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with high stakes and quick iteration cycles
• Experience designing and implementing APIs (REST & gRPC)
• Bias toward action and take pride in your work
• Strong product intuition and user empathy. You enjoy understanding how your services impact real operators and workflows
• Experience working across multiple languages or systems as needed: Go, Python, C#, C++, etc
• Background with systems that require high performance, reliability, or real-time processing
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, robotics, automation, manufacturing systems, or 3D environments
• Demonstrated success implementing and scaling production systems in complex environments
• You must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
