Director of Cost Accounting

Join our team as the Director of Cost Accounting, where you will lead the cost accounting function across a multi-site manufacturing environment. You will be the go-to expert on GAAP costing methodologies and government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Your responsibilities will include driving the semi-annual cost rate-setting process, tightening work order variance reporting, and building a SOX 404(b)-compliant control environment around inventory and costing. You will also implement additional software packages to enhance cost reporting and partner with company leadership to drive a control framework around inventory and costing.

• Extremely well spoken. Able to break down complex and hard to understand concepts to all functions at the Company
• Led a Company’s cost function historically
• 10+ Years of progressive cost or managerial accounting experience
• Extensive understanding of building Company’s and teams
• Ability to travel lightly, roughly 0-10% depending on the Company’s planning cycles
• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred
• Continuous ownership and improvement life cycles
• Extensive SQL or Python knowledge
• To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. • Worked with a Company’s Product Management function to improve internally developed software tools for Accounting Uses
• Deep understanding of internal ownership with multiple stakeholders. Balancing needs and wants of all
• Mixture of experience with high volume and high dollar amount manufacturing
• Extensive understanding of multiple types of manufacturing including but not limited to Satellites, CPG, Components, ships, or semiconductor industry best practices
• Experience in building and owning processes continuously
