Principal Engineer, Data Infrastructure

As a Principal Engineer in Data Infrastructure, you will own the technical direction and delivery of Klaviyo's data platform, which processes billions of events daily. You will design and implement core data platform capabilities, define and uphold service level objectives, and contribute high-quality code. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports, and you will lead through architecture, code, and influence.

• Design and implement core data platform capabilities, including event ingestion, stream processing, batch orchestration, and data governance.
• Define and uphold service level objectives (SLOs) for data freshness, availability, and correctness; author readiness reviews and incident response.
• Collaborate with product teams and analytics/ML to expose the right abstractions and unblock customer value quickly.
