FP&A Manager
Headway · San Francisco, United States
About The Role
Join Headway, a fast-growing company on a mission to transform mental healthcare. As an FP&A Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of the company and driving its growth. You will partner directly with Finance leadership and department leaders across various functions, helping them make informed financial decisions and turning plans into results. This is not just a reporting function; it is an opportunity to have a real impact on the company's success.
- Partner directly with Finance leadership and department leaders across CX, R&D, People, and G&A to connect decisions to the company's broader financial picture.
- Lead financial deep dives that drive decisions, run financial analyses, and identify business problems to surface early signals and turn them into strategies.
- Play a central role in the processes where Headway defines its strategy and understands the financial implications, serving as a key Finance voice to teams across the company.
- If you're an analytical, detail-oriented finance partner who wants real influence on how a high-growth company spends, plans, and scales — and you care about the mission behind the work — this role is built for you
- You communicate complex insights clearly. You tailor your message to the audience — finance vs. business and product partners — and make the takeaway impossible to miss
- You've owned the numbers behind a fast-growing business — and made them mean something. You have 6+ years of experience, ideally blending Investment Banking, Consulting, or Private Equity/VC with a highly analytical strategic finance role at a fast-growing company. You bring a point of view on day one
- You bring structure to ambiguity. You're a resourceful self-starter who seeks context, solves open-ended problems, anticipates stakeholder needs, and stays flexible when priorities shift
- You take a "measure twice, cut once" approach to financial data. You're detail-oriented and rigorous, highly proficient in Google Sheets and BI tools, and comfortable working with large, complex datasets
- You make the business better, not just the model. You embed with department leaders, earn their trust quickly, and translate finance into decisions that sharpen spend discipline and efficiency
- You see AI as a competitive advantage for finance, not a feature to explore someday. You actively use AI tools to work faster, sharpen your analysis, and make smarter calls — and you bring that orientation to the team around you
