Staff Data Scientist (Finance & Accounting)

Join Headway as a Staff Data Scientist for Finance and Accounting. In this role, you will drive data insights strategy for Headway's financial ecosystem, providing a holistic understanding of our financial health and revenue infrastructure. You will work closely with the Finance department and various cross-functional teams to improve our revenue infrastructure and financial reporting. Your work will shape our customer experience and support Headway's path to public company readiness.

• Conduire la stratégie d'analyse des données pour l'écosystème financier de Headway, en fournissant une compréhension holistique de la santé financière et de l'infrastructure des revenus.
• Collaborer étroitement avec les départements Finance, Engineering, Product et Operations pour améliorer l'infrastructure des revenus et le reporting financier.
• Définir et mettre en œuvre la stratégie de mesure des pertes de recouvrement, en construisant les cadres nécessaires pour comprendre où et pourquoi les pertes se produisent.
• Proficiency in forecasting and predictive modeling techniques
• Working knowledge of core finance and accounting concepts such as how transaction-level data powers financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement)
• Experience working with healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is strongly preferred
• Experience with data modeling, ideally using dbt
• 10+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven success partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams, and collaborating internally across Data Engineering and Data Science
• Hands-on technical fluency in SQL and Python or R
• Experience adopting and championing AI-assisted tools to accelerate and automate data workflows
