Staff Data Engineer

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into business-ready intelligence and ensuring data quality and reliability. You will lead complex initiatives, influence technology choices, and mentor other engineers. This is a hands-on technical leadership position that requires extensive experience in data engineering and expertise in modern data tools.

• Defining the future state of the data infrastructure, setting architectural direction, and establishing organization-wide data standards.
• Leading complex, multi-functional initiatives focused on data quality governance and the maturity of data pipelines.
• Mentoring and coaching other data engineers, elevating their technical skills, code quality, and engineering maturity.
• Engineering Elevation: A strong track record of mentoring, coaching, and elevating the technical skills, code quality, and engineering maturity of other data engineers
• Architectural Ownership: Proven ability to define the technical roadmap for the entire data platform, working horizontally to influence architectural decisions and technical debt management across multiple engineering teams
• 9+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of architecting and shipping progressively more complex, large-scale data products
• Expert-level proficiency in our modern data stack, including Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, and Python. You are capable of defining best practices and architectural patterns across these tools
• 2+ years of Marketplace Experience: Prior experience in the marketplace or two-sided platform is a significant plus
• Deep mastery of advanced data modeling techniques and their application within production systems to achieve high performance
