About The Role

Join Medely, a rapidly growing healthcare marketplace, as a Senior Data Scientist. In this strategic role, you will shape product strategy, lead large-scale initiatives, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to build science-driven solutions that improve marketplace performance. You will identify meaningful business and product opportunities, build advanced machine learning and analytics solutions, design and execute experiments, and translate complex analyses into clear recommendations. This is a remote position with a full suite of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid parental leave, and a 401k plan.

  • Identifying and developing insights, models, and systems to drive measurable impact on business and product opportunities.
  • Building advanced machine learning, optimization, and analytics solutions to improve marketplace efficiency at scale.
  • Partnering cross-functionally to define key metrics, improve logging and instrumentation, and build data visualizations and diagnostic tools.
  • This is a highly strategic role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves solving complex problems, and wants to directly influence how a category-defining marketplace evolves
  • Competency in Python, R, or another scripting language for data analysis, modeling, and problem-solving
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related discipline
  • Strong foundation in experimental design and analysis, with the ability to translate findings into meaningful business or product decisions
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear, compelling narratives that influence decision-making
  • Proven success partnering cross-functionally and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience leveraging business intelligence tools to uncover insights and guide strategy
  • Experience applying data science to marketplace optimization challenges, including pricing, matching, or supply-demand dynamics
  • A builder’s mindset - you thrive in fast-moving environments, embrace ambiguity, and take ownership from insight through execution
  • Naturally curious and eager to explore new tools, methods, and approaches that unlock better outcomes
  • Passionate about using data to shape products that create meaningful value for customers and the business
